The setting
The university is located on a modern residential campus just outside the city of Binghamton. About 190 miles northwest of New York City, the Binghamton metropolitan area, home to just under a quarter million residents, supports a philharmonic orchestra, first-rate regional opera company and a modern sports arena. It also supports one of New York’s largest high-technology centers.
